2. 25/04/09 Almost Snip Esprit
Snip Esprit found himself a neck short of another sprint victory at Ascot on Saturday. Snip settled last (in a one out one back position) for jockey Clint Harvey after jumping awkwardly. Race favourite Elliotto found the front and ran the race at a slow tempo with jockey Brad Parnham ensuring his charge have enough of a kick at the finish to hold off the startling sprint of Snip Esprit. Coming to the home turn Snip was full of running looking for a clear run. Eventually Harvey seezed upon on a gap near the inside and burst through going head to head with Elliotto for the final 200m. But Elliotto had a bit too much petrol in the tank and defeated Snip by a neck.
4. 23/04/09 Snip Esprit shooting for back to back victories
Snip Esprit will be out to make it back to back is wins on Saturday when he takes on a small field of sprinters in the Perth Leagacy Sprint over 1200m. Last start snip proved too good when he defeated Bull Durham at Ascot over 1000m, sitting on the speed in a one out one back postion and producing a great sprint to get up by a long head. Clint Harvey will take the reins on Saturday with regular rider Jason Brown out suspended. From gate 5 Snip will hopefully be able to find a spot close to the speed in race which doesnt look as though it will be strongly run.
