Alesprit owner bids for the sky

CONVINCED that potentially the sky is the limit for his fleeting filly Alesprit, owner Sid Everingham has turned down a $400,000 offer for the Bel Esprit youngster from a middle-man acting for a wealthy Sydney owner.
Alesprit had tongues wagging, times queried and rivals demoralised after a scintillating 11.25 lengths first-up win in Rockhampton over 1000 metres on March 3.
Tomorrow, Baralaba-based Everingham believes Alesprit will justify his conviction that she is a “star born” by winning the $120,000 Capricorn Sales Classic (1200m) at Callaghan Park, Rockhampton.
First prize for the Classic is $73,000, a far cry from the recent “four-hundred grand” offer.
“Mate I think she will just …. - no you won't be able to print that - I think she will just win,” Everingham enthused.
