Top WA Apprentice Noske Rides In Vic
Top West Australian apprentice Jarrad Noske begins a riding stint in Melbourne with the Peter Moody stable on Saturday at Flemington where he has five rides.
Noske, who claims 1.5kg in the metropolitan area, is currently equal third with Paul Harvey on the Perth jockeys' premiership with 36 winners behind William Pike (59) and Troy Turner (37.5).
Noske has been riding for 16 months and showed his ability when he represented WA and scored on the Gerald Ryan-trained Equable in a leg of the National Apprentice Jockey Challenge over 2040m at Moonee Valley on February 20.
He starts off his day at Flemington aboard the Lee Freedman-trained Europa Point in the Community Raceday Hcp (1400m) and will be aboard the Moody-trained pair Black Caviar in the Cromwell Hcp (1000m) and Live In Sin in the Chester Hcp (1600m).
Black Caviar, a $210,000 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sake purchase, is making her debut and the Bel Esprit two-year-old filly looks a good chance on the strength of her five-length win in an 800m Cranbourne barrier trial on March 30.
She was ridden in the trial by Moody's number one stable jockey Luke Nolen who hasn't taken rides on Saturday after his wife Alicia had their first child, a son named Dane Albert, on Wednesday night.
