BEL ESPRIT & DELAGO BROM IN SANDOWN DOUBLE

June 18 2008
Proven Eliza Park ‘headliners’ - Bel Esprit and Delago Brom - have had another successful day at the office with a double at Sandown.
Tassology got the ball rolling for Bel Esprit with an emphatic victory in the Ungar Super VOBIS 2YO Handicap over 1400m, while another of the Bel Esprit’s in Bel Estar (a last start winner) ran on well for fourth.
Raced by the highly successful Slade Bloodstock, Tassology was placed in town last campaign and has been knocking on the door since resuming in late April.Sold through the Eliza Park draft at last year’s Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, Tassology was eventually knocked down to Slade Bloodstock for $100,000.
Tassology is out of the Mystery Storm (by Storm Bird) mare, In a Teacup, a half sister to multiple Group One winner Heroicity. Tassology is Bel Esprit’s 33rd winner and eighth 2YO winner for the season.
Meanwhile, Erupts was at it again two races later when the Delago Brom filly captured the Magic Flute Handicap over 1200m. Trained by John Hawkes, she’s certainly some filly with four wins from her only five outings.
Well named (Erupts is out of the Pompeii Court mare Versuvia), this was her first run back in four months and she looks to have a very big future.
With 24 winners for the season, Delago Brom has produced five in just over a week.
