Eurell in Winning Form as He Prepares for Apache Cat

Cranbourne trainer Greg Eurell was in winning form at Kyneton today as he prepares to saddle up his stable star Apache Cat at Flemington on Saturday.
Eurell was pleased he was able to score a maiden win with promising three-year-old colt Thirteenthknight.
A son of Bel Esprit, Thirteenthknight was able to make up for a mysterious last start flop at Sale with today's victory.
"I still can't really explain what happened to him last start," Eurell said. "It was too bad to be true."
"I guess it will just remain one of those mysteries."
"You just had to put a line through the run and go on his previous run (when second on debut at Bendigo)," Eurell added.
At the post Thirteenthknight ($6-$5) was able to skip clear of his rivals and beat Sweet Lady ($2.30-$4) by two and a half lengths.
Third home was Berringama ($3.80-$3.60-$3.80 fav), a further length and a quarter back.
"I really liked the way he knuckled down over the final furlong and kicked away," Eurell summed up.
Eurell said he was looking forward to Saturday when his sprint sensation Apache Cat will start in the Group One Patinack Farm Classic (1200m).
In that race Apache Cat will clash with star globetrotter Takeover Target.
Others among the 13 entries for the race are Triple Honour, Swick, Sunburnt Land, Keen Commander and Bel Mer.
