After three 4ths and an unlucky 2nd in a photo finish in her second preparation, the ever consistent Belahina scored a one length win at Sale Today. Starting favourite at $2.20, Peter Mertens took the filly to the front on entering the straight and quickly created a three length break on the field, winning by one length from the fast finishing Avienus with Good Decision a further two lengths away in third place.
Congratulations go to the many happy Owners, T B O'Brien, Ms M J Maroszek, S T Maroszek, M Griffiths, S J Chalmers, T & Mrs S Bowler, A G & Mrs J Zoanetti & S R Marshall and well done to trainer John Moloney who bought a cracking colt by Bel Esprit out of Aura Raider for $30,000. at the Premier Yearling Sales this week. An astute judge told me the colt has great potential.
