Belvain 6/07/09

A Vain Winner at Wagga
After finishing third to Targa Lady (backed off the map) on 12 June on a heavy track, Belvain started in a Maiden at Narrandra (heavy track) on the 22 June and won by two and a half lengths over 1000m.
Today this Bel Esprit filly had her next start, again on a heavy track, again 1000m and won by one length ridden by Robyn Freeman who has been aboard in all starts this time in.
The trainer, Mark Kavanagh, had saddled up Bel Fame twice (including at trip to Adelaide) between Belvain's wins for no success, so today might make up for it.
Watching the race, you would have got the feeling that the way she pulled away from the second horse in the last 100m, there are more wins in store for this stylish filly. At the finish Belvain was doing better than any other horse in the race. You should have taken this one to Adelaide, Mark.
